Chime Beauty, a 39-year-old woman, has been arrestedn in Bayelsa state for allegedly flogging a 13-year-old girl, Chimezie Hope, with a sharp iron.
New Telegraph reports that Beauty flogged her niece after accusing her of playing with her peers while neglecting her grandmother.
The victim told a correspondent that trouble started on Sunday morning when she was cooking for the grandmother.
According to her, “My aunty came into the house and started hitting me and accusing me of neglecting my 84-year-old grandmother.
“She hit me with iron rod and I started bleeding.”
According to the report, the incident occurred at about 7:30am on Sunday on Goodnews Street off Azikoro Road in the state and many of the residents accused the woman of repeatedly assaulting the teenage girl.
Neighbours were said to have tried to stop the bleeding before she was rushed to the hospital.
The issue was reported to the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, who promptly alerted the police.
Police operatives attached to Azikoro Division reportedly made the arrest after the complaint was laid.

Niger Delta leaders present 16-point request to Buhari; see his reaction (photos)
President Buhari met with Niger Delta leaders at the state house in buja – The Edwin Clark-led group presented a 16-point request – The president welcomed the request and said the amnesty report will also be implemented President Muhammadu Buhari has welcomed the 16-ponit requests presented by leaders from the Niger Delta region. The president met with the leaders from the region at the state house on Tuesday, November 1 to discuss the issue of militancy and security in the Niger Delta region. In a statement by Garba Shehu who is the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, President Buhari noted that the unity and progress of the country was important as peace, security, investment and prosperity are linked together, adding that “if we give peace a chance, investors will come here to invest. Nobody will invest in an insecure environment”.
Buhari noted that things were difficult due to the collapse of oil prices, inability of 27 of the 36 states of the Federation to pay salaries and absence of savings to fall back on. The president welcomed the 16-point requests presented by the Niger Delta leaders led by Chief Edwin Clark and added that he was also expecting reports from officials he had instructed to review the implementation of the Amnesty program to determine where government fell short so that amends can be made.

If anybody has a country to go to, let him go, we will stay here and salvage our country.” He said: “Please Your Excellencies, Your Majesties, Distinguished ladies and gentlemen; we all have our individual constituencies. Let us try to pacify our constituencies. Let us first recover our country, secure the country and let us invite people who will invest. Let us create jobs for our people and let us be accountable to our people where we are sitting on treasuries, whether it is local government, state or the center. We should ensure that we rebuild this country. Nobody wants to fail. So, the only way out is, if people understand and believe that we are doing our best at all levels, then we will have some peace. But it they have reason to doubt our performance and sincerity, then we will have problem”.
Some of the requests made by the Clark-led team include the completion of major road projects in the region, the take-off of the maritime university, the full activation of ports in Niger Delta and other water ways, the relocation of international oil companies to the region, the issuance of oil blocks to the states and other stakeholders as well as the strengthening of the Niger Delta Development Commission and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. They also spoke about the issue of fiscal federalism.
The Niger Delta leaders declared total support for the administration of President Buhari and expressed total commitment to the unity, peace and stability of the country, At the meeting were the vice president, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir David Lawal. Representatives of military chief as well as some ministers were also at the meeting.

An officer from the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station revealed that the suspect, a resident of Dhayari, works with a private firm after completing his graduation.
He met the girl on a social networking site in January this year.
“The girl accepted his friendship request on the site and they would often chat online. In one of these chats, he promised to marry her and asked her to come to city of Pune to meet him,” the police officer said.
When the girl reached Pune, he took her to a lodge at Katraj and r*ped her. She kept quiet out of fear.
In August, when she told him that she was pregnant, he forced her to undergo an abortion, the officer said.
He then started avoiding the girl, police said adding that the girl then visited Pune and approached his parents and other relatives.
“However, they too ignored her. The girl then registered a complaint against him on Tuesday,” the officer said.
The man has been booked under section 376 (ra.pe) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Se.xual Offences Act. We are yet to arrest him, the officer said.

A secondary school teacher, Mr. Enilolobo Olamilekan at Agbokunloko College, Ikotun, Lagos State, yesterday denied defi-ling a 12-year-old student, insisting that he only put his p*nis in her mouth.
Olamilekan, who hails from Lagos, admitted to have lured the girl to his parent’s apartment, where he took advantage of the 12-year-old Junior Secondary School 2 student.
In his confession, Olamilekan said:

I told her I would bring it later, but she refused.
“She said the victim should go with me to the house, so that I would give her the bottle. That was how the girl went with me to the house. I took her inside our parlour. I put her on the chair and put my manhood in her mouth. I did not touch her private part. They have done a test and confirmed I did not touch her there. She did not cry and she did not complain. But she went home and reported to her parents.
“I only put my male organ inside the mouth of the girl. I did not r*pe her. I just do not know what got into me. However, I’m ready to face the consequences of my action. I know I have committed a crime and I’m guilty. Whatever is my punishment; I’ll face it and hope God would have mercy on me. I have never done something like this before. I do not have a girlfriend.”
The bubble burst after the girl’s curious mother got wind of what happened and subsequently reported the case at the Ikotun Police Division and the teacher was arrested.

Policemen from the Oyo State Police Command have arrested t hree persons in possession of two human skulls at a hideout in Ogbomoso.
Samuel Adegbuyi, t he state Commissioner of Police, revealed that the arrest was made after the police received information from members of the public, who had raised the alarm that the suspects were dealing in human parts.
According to The Punch, one of the skulls was discovered to have had what looked like a deep machete cut at its temple, leaving the police to suspect that the person the head belonged to might have been gruesomely killed.
Ramoni Akeem, 41, Azeez Ojelade, 36, and Salimon Salami, 40, were the suspects arrested by the police.
Akeem said he paid N10, 000 for the skulls and that Salami was the vendor.
Akeem said, “I am a herbalist and I heal people with herbs. I have never used body parts for rituals. One day, a friend came to me and said his friend discovered two corpses on a land where he had wanted to cut trees. He asked if I knew what body parts could be used for. I told him that I did not know anything about charms prepared with body parts.
“One of our friends, Saheed Ifa, who is a senior herbalist, heard about it and said he could make use of the skulls to prepare charms. When the skulls were produced, the man who brought them demanded for N10, 000. I paid him in four instalments. But that is all I know about the skulls. Ifa has travelled to Lagos. I don’t know where he lives in Lagos.”
Salami, who claimed to have discovered the corpses, denied any wrongdoing.
He said, “I was asked to cut some trees on a large piece of land but when I got there, I discovered two corpses and I told a friend that I was afraid to work on the land because someone killed two people there. He said I should continue with my work while he looked for what to do with the corpses. When he got a buyer, he contacted me and I went back to the bush and dismembered the heads from the bodies,” he said.

A 16-year-old Indian girl has been allegedly r*ped.
The young girl was brutally r*ped by her neighbour on the pretext of marriage, in Bhognipur police area of Kanpur Dehat district, India.
The man has since disappeared from sight after the incident.
According to Times of India, a case has been registered against the accused on Sunday.
As per police reports, the accused was identified as Chandrapal, who resides in the neighbourhood. Chandrapal had come in the victim’s contact about eight months ago and the both started having an affair.
He promised to marry her and one day dragged her indoors and r*ped her while she was alone in the house.
Chandrapal later went back on is words and refused to marry the girl.
The girl then apprised her parents of the incident, who then reported the matter to the Bhognipur Kotwali police. Chandrapal is on the run.
“A case has been registered with the Bhognipur Kotwali police under Section 376 (punishment for r*pe), 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or compelling woman to marriage etc) of the IPC, besides POCSO Act,” SHO Bhognipur Anup Dubey, said.
A police official privy to the investigation said, “We have registered a case. The accused Chandrapal is absconding. Raids are on to arrest him.”

Want some milk? Well, scientists have claimed cockroach milk is full of protein, and may someday be transformed into a food supplement worthy of human consumption.
According to CNN, scientists have found that the Cockroach feeds its bug babies a formula which is remarkably rich in protein, fat and sugar.
“The protein crystals are milk for the cockroach infant. It is important for its growth and development,” said Leonard Chavas, one of the scientists behind the research.
He explained the crystals have a whopping three times the energy of an equivalent mass of buffalo milk, about four times the equivalent of cow’s milk.

Women are more susceptible to contracting the virus than men. Regarding HPV transmission rates, male-to-female transmission rates are 5% higher than female-to-male transmission rates.
Furthermore, the most common HPV- related disease is cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women, (the number one cause of death in woman is heart disease) and in nearly all cases of cervical cancer, HPV infection has been the cause. To be more concrete, two types of the HPV, types 16 and 18, are responsible for almost 70% of all cervical cancer cases.
